I consider myself to be a Digital Dinosaur, I have been established in the field of Digital Marketing for over 15 years, I am pre Google! I have worked across a range of sectors from recruitment and education through to the public sector.

I started working in the world of digital 15 years ago, of course it was called Internet Marketing back then, in fact Google, Facebook and Twitter had never been heard of, the primary goal was to ensure a position in the Yahoo Directory. Of course a lot has changed since then but the basic principals of good marketing remain, it has to be about the target audience, offering a positive user experience to drive traffic and then convert the traffic into customers.

Awards

I have been fortunate to be recognised with several awards for my digital strategies, website usability and creative campaigns, these include a Drum Marketing Award, Fresh Award, Communicator Awards, Hermes Awards, IMA Award and being shortlisted for Best Marketing Team at the Recruiter Awards for a digital strategy and execution.

The difference between me and your average digital consultant is I have a thorough understanding of the whole mix, website usability, search engine marketing, email marketing, viral marketing and of course, the buzz word of the moment social media.

Career

I have had a varied and enjoyable career in digital from being Head of Digital Marketing for the recruitment giant Pertemps to being responsible for all the digital marketing projects at OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations) for almost 7 years, these roles have empowered me to really get to grips and understand the prinicipals of marketing and a great user experience this is something I ensure I use for every project and campaign I work on. I always start with a digital audit of your current position. I've been fortunate to work with some incredible people who have taught me a lot a long the way.
